ONLY 1 POINT FOR TAILGATING AND 3 FOR NOT DISPLAYING...
Points should only be lost for driving errors that are dangerous to other road users
Some serious driving offfences only receive 1 or 2 points
Follow to closely is only 1 point
Improper overtaking or passing is 2 points
Not displaying a P.Plate is 3 points!
A P.Plate falling off says more about the quality of the P.plate than the danger of the driving.
A P.Plate falling is not the same as not displaying P.Plates at all
Because of drivers believing we have a 'fast lane' Tailgating has become one of the most dangerous practices on our roads and yet that offence only warrants 1 point
Points should reflect that the driving is of concern, and serve as a warning to pay attention.
The P.Plate tells us that these drivers are inexperienced
It is very important that it is displayed especially in the first couple of years.
Victoria is the only State that removes 3 points from probationary drivers for f.ailure to display
WACD asks that the list is updated to
1 point be removed for not displaying P.Plates
3 Points for following to closely
3 Points for improper overtaking and passing
