Finalists announced for year’s best radio ad (23-Apr-08)

The best radio ad of 2008 will be battled out between 50 ad agencies and radio stations as part of the national Siren Awards, which will be announced in Melbourne on May 9.


 THANKS TO Belgiovane Williams Mackay, Sydney for thinking of

us and caring about Road Trauma. 

They didnt win the Siren award this year, but made it to the very short list.

 
Other Australian Winners On Cannes Shortlist 
The RACV ad is one of three 2008 Sirens finalists and winners

that made it to the radio shortlist in Cannes this year, and one

of 11 Australian ads shortlisted overall.
The other two shortlisted radio ads were “Police Radio”, written

by Belgiovane Williams Mackay, Sydney, for

Working Against Culpable Driving,

and "Do I Sound Different?", written by Leo Burnett Melbourne

for SCOPE.
Chief executive officer of Commercial Radio Australia, Joan

Warner congratulated the winners and said it was great news

for the Australian radio industry.
“Being recognised internationally at such a top level is a

fantastic achievement and highlights how far Australian radio

ads have come in the past few years,” Ms Warner said.
